Aired last week, Wednesday, the Korean drama “Eve” takes your viewing habit into the next level. This drama stars Seo Yea-Ji, playing the role of Lee La-El in this drama, who previously played a very nice role on “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay”. At first I thought that this drama was all about being a Mistress or the main lead having an affair since it started with having an article written that Kang Yoon-Kyum, played by Park Byung-Eun, is having an affair. This article caused a ruckus that reached even Yoon-Kyum’s family. After his press conference the day the article was published he went to Lee La-El place confirming to the viewer that they really were having an affair.
Later on, after the scene where they met it goes back three months ago the day they first met. They met in an event attended by the parents of the students in a Kindergarten. La-El performs there and she tries to attract Byung-Eun. It was later on revealed that it was her plan to take revenge with what happened to her dad 13 years ago. To make her revenge her goal was to attract Byung-Eun. They both have a spouse and child but her agenda still continues.
Thirteen years ago, her father died unexpectedly. It was because he was tortured for him to sign a document and told public that he was a spy but he refuses that’s why it ends up killing him. Powerful people were responsible for his death and because of this her family was destroyed as well. For the past 13 years she prepared herself and decided to take revenge for what they did. The powerful person who was at the top of the reason her father died was Park Byung-Eun Father-in-law that's why she targeted Byung-Eun to destroy their image and family.
After what happened to her family, a lawyer named Seo Eun-Pyeong helped her but since he can’t help her to give justice to what happened to them he then helped La-El to go abroad and have a scholarship there. He promises La-El that he will hold power so that something like what happened to her won’t happen anymore. He is not the youngest member of the National Assembly.
Though she may have a reason, personally speaking the way she takes her revenge might really be controversial but at the same time as a viewer you really want her to succeed on what she aims knowing what happened to her and to her family. I think it is okay if she doesn't have a child yet since this might affect her child as well, again personally speaking. We will know in the next few episodes how the story will builds and how it will affect both family.
