While You Were Sleeping (2017) - Series Review: "Amazing Fantasy Legal Drama"

While You Were Sleeping follows the story of people who have been dreaming of future events specially events that lead to people's death. This events are chain events and they try to somehow avoid it and stop it as long as they can. Some of the people who forsee the future events are the leads named Jung Jae-Chan and Nam Hong-Joo.

Main Characters and Their Previous Works I'd watched. 

Lee Jong-Suk played the role of Jung Jae-Chan who also already played a lot of character such as Kang Chul of one of my favorite fantasy romance drama "W: Two Worlds" and Park Chang-Ho from his latest drama "Big Mouth". I also watch him in the Fantasy Legal drama I can hear your voice but unfortunately I dropped it in the middle because of lack of time and when I tried watching it again I found myself the need to restart the drama because I watch it so long ago. On the other hand, this drama was one of the good drama that unfortunately I stopped due to some reasons.

On the other hand, Bae Suzy played the role of Nam Hong-Joo who also played some remarkable roles such as Hyo Hye-Mi from "Dream High" which I always wait to air in the TV and Seo Dal-mi from one the most heartbreaking series for the second lead "Start-Up". I also have some dramas that I wasn't able to finish yet like "Uncontrollably Fond", "Vagabond" and her latest "Doona".

Director and Writer and their Previous works.

The director of this drama are Oh Choong-Hwan and Park Soo-Jin who also directed a lot of well-known drama such as "Dr. Romantic" and "Why Her?" for Park Soo-Jin which I can vouch to be really good and "My Love From the Star", "Big Mouth" and "Start-Up" for Oh Choong-Hwan which are part of my favorite dramas. That's why even I dropped this drama, I was able to enjoy it after continuing and left a good impact on me. The writer of this drama is also the one who wrote "Start Up" and "Dream High" named Park Hye-Ryun. 

The director and writer also did a lot of good dramas that I'm well aware of. The one mentioned above or the drama series I am mentioning on this one and on my previous reviews are those I have seen, starter or finished.

Story

The story was actually promising. It was unique and different. To make different people foresee different events and those events are chain events which make it more interesting and entertaining. The thrill was there and the mystery as well. I can definitely say that this story was one of a kind. The plot and the twist and turns. And even the fact that the lawyer Yoo-Beom who wasn't bad at all but became bad because he tried covering his fault and turned the scenario to become worst for him.

Acting

My opinions maybe different from you, that's why I want to hear your thoughts as well in the comment section for me to be able to know how others perceived the story, the acting and more. The actors on this drama really did great in portraying their character. Some even excel and shine more than others. There are some parts that I find it not cute when they want to be cute or find it over making the scene not heartbreaking as it should be. There are some parts for me, but most of the part they made it beautifully.

Favorite Character on this Series

I find the character of Han Woo-tak very appealing and promising. He has the golden heart and because he was the second lead who did not try to ruin much the relationship of the main lead made him more attractive. It was also praiseworthy the one he did in the final episodes despite the consequences he did it magnificently and truthfully.

Favorite Actor/Actress on this Series

The one who really showcase his greatness in acting and my favorite actor for this series is Lee Sang-yeob who played the role of the antagonist named Lee Yoo-Beom. Antagonist are really the one who showcase most of the time their greatness in acting. It was actually hard to make you hate the character if the actor didn't portray it well, that's why he for me is my favorite actor because he did really get my "inis".

Favorite Couple/Tandem on this Series

My favorite couple on this drama series would be the two main lead which is Jae-chan and Hong-Joo. I can see that they have a chemistry not powerful as others but still they have enough to make the series more appealing.

It was undeniably a great drama series to watch from great directors and writers. It was one of their masterpiece as well as to the main leads. A great story for the great cast. It was just sad that I wasn't able to finish this one previously but I was thankful that I did finish it and experienced how great this drama were.
