Vincenzo is a Korean Drama series aired last 2021. It talks about a consigliere who return to Korean to retrieve a gold which supposedly he and few people who works with him knows about. The name of the consigliere was Vincenzo Cassano, with Korean name Park Joo-Hyeong. When he is about to retrieve the gold, he found out some difficulties in it and was entangled in a battle against a big company named "Babel".
Main Characters and Their Previous Works I'd watched.
Song Joong-ki played the role of Vincenzo. When it was aired, I actually don't like watching Joong-ki. I even haven't had the chance to watch his previous main roles such as the "Descendants of the Sun". I had hard time admiring him that time maybe because of some personal reasons. But when the time Reborn Rich was aired, I admired his role there and somehow admire him as an actor who portray the role magnificently.
This year, on my journey of retrieving some good dramas that I haven't watched, I started to watch Vincenzo's first few episodes which turns out to be fun and cool. Fun because of Jeon Yeon-Bin who played the role of Hong Cha-Young, who at first defend Babel and now fights them alongside Vincenzo. She was actually fun to watch, and I remember her in the latest series she starred in named "A Time Called You." And it was cool at the same time because Vincenzo was overpowered. Meaning, he doesn't want to be defeated in terms of legal nor physical battles. It was fun to watch main lead who fight and can fight.
Director and Writer and their Previous works.
Kim Hee-Won directed Vincenzo and sadly I haven't had the chance to watch her previous series. I had the chance to start some of her drama which either a dropped it in the middle such as "Little Women", "The Crown Clown" and "Warm and Cozy". The reason why I dropped this drama series was actually different from one series to another and the moment I started watching it also affects why I didn't continue watching it.
For the writer, luckily, I had the chance to finish some of his drama series. The writer of Vincezo is Park Jae-Bum and some of the dramas he wrote that I was able to finish are "Good Manager" and "Blood".
Story
The story really gives me the "Gigil Vibes" wherein I hated the antagonist so much which let's give it to Kim Yeo-Jin who played the role of Choi Myung-Hee. She was really the one who gives me the "Gigil Vibes". I really thought she was a good one who pretends to be bad, but it turns out to be that she was evil, and she deserve the ending for her.
It was cool to have a Mafia turned to be an ordinary people themed story. Well, that was a very long one to describe the theme. Some moments are just repeating and repeating, like they file some case, and they were framed for the things they didn't do which kind of repeating but every time it happens there's still the "Gigil".
When you think that the main lead was far behind it turns out they are few steps ahead which kinda cool for me. It was fun to watch every time they are few steps ahead and gives me the "Aha! Ano kayo ngayon" mindset for the antagonist.
Acting
Acting wise, like I always said Korean Drama series excels in Acting but when comparing one to another in this series there are some who really excels. I would give the acting to Kim Yeo-Jin which really shows when she was scared she was really scared. Though sometimes there was off acting for me specially in the Laundry-threat part but she was still did great.
For Taecyeong who played the mastermind of Babel named Jang Joon-Woo, I think he was a little off to show that he was scared or terrified in some part wherein he should show a little more terrified just like how Kwak Dong-Yeon did. I would also give a clap to Kwak Dong-Yeon who played the role of the puppet Chairman of Babel, named Jang Han-Seo.
Favorite Character on this Series
My favorite character would be Jang Han-Seo. He was fun, honest and just really want to be recognized. And the short bond he had with Vincenzo really show how he wants to have a real brother. His loyalty to Vincenzo despite his fear to Jang Joon-Woo was firm. He was a good friend to have.
Favorite Actor/Actress on this Series
The actor who I admired the most in this series is Kim Yeo-Jin. She really did great in her role in this series. She was able to showcase how bad her character was through her excellent acting and facial expression. She was able to bring out my Gigil to a high level. Sometimes, a great antagonist makes more the series fun to watch.
Favorite Couple/Tandem on this Series
I can't think of a couple or two-person tandem for this series, but I think I would give it to the Geumga Plaza group who turned Cassano Geumga Family. They might have some quarrels about the gold but when they fight together, they are fun to watch. It feels like they are more of a Mafia than commercial space owners.

Overall, this was a good drama to watch. I always had that feeling wherein I assumed I wouldn't enjoy this drama but turns out that I actually enjoyed / will enjoy it. I guess the perfect time to watch the series also affects how the series will make you feel.
