Blind (2022) - Series Review: "Blinded by the Past"

Have you ever had a past experience that you wish you could forget but can't? Have you tried to flee a memory that keeps bothering you and flashing back? I suppose if you were able to put that memory behind you, you'd be in a better place. If you were successful in finding justice, I doubt that those who turned evil in this series will be able to become evil themselves.

The final episode of the Korean drama series "Blind" aired last night. They aired 16 episodes before ending the tv series. TaecYeon played Ryu Sung-Joon, Ha Seok-Jin played Ryu-Sung-Hoon, and Jung Eun-Ji played Jo Eun-Ki.

The plot revolves around Ryu Sung-Joon (TaecYeon), Ryu Sung-Hoon (Ha Seok Jin), and Jo Eun Ki (Jung Eun Ji). These three become involved in a serial murder case in which the victims are the jury. These three are attempting to discover the truth behind those deaths.

Ryu Sung Joon was the case's detective in charge, while his older brother Ryu Sung Hoon was the judge and Jung Eun Ji was a jury member. The murder of the jury member has a deeper connection with Hope Welfare Center.

This series reminded me of "Awaken," another series with a bad past that leads to serial killings. Despite the fact that they differ in terms of what they did to the children. In this series, they just make the kids do things, punish them, and hurt them because they didn't do well in cleaning or something else. They are simply treating the children as if they were a dog that was given to them because no one wants to take care of them. While on the series "Awaken", they experimented on the children. But one thing both series teach me is that traumas can change people's minds, causing them to act violently.

Maybe that's why we were told to be good to the kids because what they've experienced during their childhood will affect how they truly grow and their character development.

Blind is the type of show I enjoy, despite the fact that I am unfamiliar with some of the cast members. TaecYeon is only known to me because he is a part of Dream High and a well-known actor. Some of them were unfamiliar to me, but that doesn't diminish the quality of the series because they all did an excellent job.

It was a mental pain, especially in the first few episodes. Pain in the head, not the ass, because this series will really shake your brain to make you think. It will really play with your mind, and it did until the end. Starting the series will leave you with a lot of questions; if you're a mystery geek like me, these questions will keep you waiting for the next episode.

Who would have guessed that both brothers would be accused of being involved in the serial killings? Like any other viewer, I hoped at first that none of them were the murderer. I honestly thought they cared about each other, but it turned out, without spoiling much, to be one-sided because one had a stronger connection to another character. After watching "Mouse," I always consider having the lead role one of the suspects, and they were able to make me believe that on the first few episodes.

The series actually blinded me. Almost all of the characters became suspects for me. It wasn't a bad thing, though; making all or most of the characters suspects was a good thing because it made you wonder. However, it turned out that the majority of my suspects were extremely bad on their own. I won't give too much away, but if there were any hints of spoilers, please accept my apologies. But it was great, really great series.

The title of this series did not refer to actual blindness. It was almost like a metaphor. Some claim that TaecYeon's character, Sung Joon, was blinded by the truth. But, in my opinion, it also implies that they were blinded by vengeance, their past, and their traumas. I agree that killing will not solve any problems, but in the last episode, the one who plotted the revenges stated that he tried to bring up what those people did to them but was ignored.

My mind is split in half; I understand that they each have their own reasons for doing bad things but being a criminal for the criminal to pay was not a happy ending. Revenge does not justify doing the same thing to those people. Also, while vengeance maybe appropriate, making innocent people pay was not. Including them in your plan may cause great pain to the person who has harmed them, but it is not right for me.

Making me write this long means this seires piqued my interest. Until now, my thoughts have been contradictory. I feel sorry for those children, but I also know what they did was wrong. Overall, it was an enjoyable drama to watch. If I were to recommend it? I would definitely like for you to watch this and share your thoughts. I'm curious if we have the same thoughts on this one.
