Agency (2023) - Pilot Episode Review: "Well Deserved"

Agency is a Korean drama series that follows the career of Go A-In, played by Lee Bo-Young, as she rises through the ranks of an advertising agency. It was JTBC's most recent offering, taking over the timeslot previously occupied by Reborn Rich every Saturday and Sunday night.

Go A-In comes from a low-income family and did not attend a prestigious university, but she has a strong desire to succeed. She was known at work as someone who was only concerned with success and money. With her drive for success, she gave her all at work, becoming the advertising agency's first female head of production.

After watching the first episode, I can see that Go A-In is a wise woman who strives to be the best or to be successful in her life. She is a competitor who knows how to play smart. I thought she was a scary boss, but she was also a boss with a heart. She was simply stressed as a result of the unfair treatment she received at work, which could lead to a bad relationship with others.

It is like a domino effect. When your boss was in a good mood, you were in a good mood, and the people around you were in a good mood as well; when the boss was in a bad mood, the work was a little heavy to do. Take for example my personal experience. When my boss was in a good mood, everything seemed fine at work; when he was in a bad mood, everything seemed stressful and heavy.

But, on the other hand, doing your best in every task is essential. Trust your instincts and demonstrate your abilities. As in the first episode, Jo Eun-Jung, the newest member of the Go A-In team, did not trust her instincts, but it turned out to be a good idea. When you have something, don't be shy about sharing it.

The first episode concluded with Go A-In being appointed Head of Production. Everyone appears to be content, and it was also revealed that it was all planned by the higher ups. They probably want Go A-In to crash and burn as she rises to the top. I believe Go A-In will experience some stress beginning with the next episode.

But I'm hoping that whatever she faces, she'll be able to solve it magnificently. I enjoy this drama, and I aspire to be like her, who did everything brilliantly. After watching her, I believe the promotion she received was well-deserved. She is intelligent and dedicated to her work.
